Spring is finally here. We’re almost sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a few things that might save you some trouble and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Westerville and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re facing an AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.
- Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up prolongs the life of your system and keeps it working at optimal efficiency. Spring is the best time to schedule your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with all of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long.
